Covid Plan for Fall 2020

This situation is fluid. Guidelines and protocols are shifting constantly.  I have listed several levels of procedures to give you an idea of what we are thinking about for the fall. The level we will operate under will depend on the number of cases in the area and the guidelines put out by the local, state, and federal agencies. The priority for all levels is the health and safety of our students, staff and their families.

Regardless of the level, our teachers will:

  • Have the ability to shift quickly to virtual learning and learning-at-home models

  • Focus on curriculum and timely grading

  • Monitor students’ emotional well being

  • Continue to provide electronic accessibility for students who need to be at home due to high temperature, illness, or self-quarantine.

  • Pray for our students, families, commnity and country

Ideally, we will open school on Sept. 1st at level 1.

Level 1- Safe precautions to slow the spread of diseases

  1. Drop off and Pick up will happen at the front doors to limit the number of people coming into the building.

  2. Temperatures will be checked of teachers and students.  A temperature of 100.4° or higher and that person will be asked to go home and rest. Students may keep up with the class through online resources.

  3. All those entering the building will wash hands before proceeding upstairs.

  4. There will be no cross interaction of junior high and elementary students. (separate lunchroom, separate recess, and separate bathroom times)

  5. Scheduled hand washing times after activities that take students out of the classroom such as lunch, recess and chapel.

  6. Frequent disinfecting during the day of classrooms and shared areas.

  7. Masks are not required unless there is a mandatory mask order in effect.

  8. If a student or staff has contact with a confirmed COVID case, we will ask that person to quarantine at home.

  9. If your family is in a situation where your student needs to quarantine at home, school work will continue to be available online and packets may be picked up at school.  Students who choose this option, and keep up with the work, will NOT be counted absent.

Level 2 – We will enter level 2 if there is a sudden or large increase of COVID cases in our area.

  1. We will follow all of level 1 procedures.

  2. Lunches will be divided into K-2 and 3-5. Junior high already have lunch separately.

  3. Recess will be divided K-2 and 3-5.

  4. Chapel will happen in the classroom.

  5. Masks will be encouraged, unless there is a mandatory mask order in effect.

  6. If a student or staff has contact with a confirmed COVID case, we will ask that person to quarantine at home.

  7. If your family is in a situation where your student needs to quarantine at home, school work will continue to be available online and packets may be picked up at school.

Level 3- Case numbers get to levels that large groups are banned.

  1. We will follow applicable level 1 and level 2 procedures.

  2. Fellowship Academy will go to a 1 time per week model.  Each class will have an assigned day to meet and do school on the Fellowship campus. The teacher will use that day to teach and prepare the students for the home days that will follow.  We will try to schedule these days on Tuesday-Thursday, but some classes may be assigned on Monday.

  3. Classes will meet in the larger rooms to ensure proper distancing between students.

  4. Masks will be required for staff and encouraged for students, unless there is a mandatory mask order in effect.

  5. If a student or staff has contact with a confirmed COVID case, we will ask that person to quarantine at home.

  6. If your family is in a situation where your student needs to quarantine at home, school work will continue to be available online and packets may be picked up at school. Students who choose this option, and keep up with the work, will NOT be counted absent.

Level 4- Cases within our population that prevents in-person schooling.

  1. We will shift to a full online model until schooling may resume in a safe way.  Teachers will communicate through Planbook.com and other online programs.

  2. We will focus on reading, writing, math and Bible during this time.
